One of those ‘Oops moments’ when Amsterdam airport was in chaos after a pilot accidentally triggered the hijack alarm, emergency service personnel were deployed, many airport gates were closed but Air Europa said it had all been a false alarm saying the following;
The airline said on Twitter that a pilot had accidentally set off the alarm which “triggers protocols on hijackings at the airport”.
They added: “Nothing has happened, all passengers are safe and sound waiting to fly soon. We deeply apologise.”
