It only stops if I turn off the button, I’m using a mechanic 1 hour timer, abit more reliable than me looking at my watch

I find clocks a real pain in the butt.   With so many short power cuts they stop and in the morning they are all flashing, crying to be reset.  Nuisance.  I’m retired so no pressing need to know the time.

Days pass by and I sometimes don’t know what day it is.

The only thing that I haven’t cracked on my new cooker is the clock…can’t work it out.

it has a mind of its own…instructions in every language except common sense.

Why do you have so many power cuts ? Is it Brittany in general or just your own installation ?

I noted that you wrote that you had to change your electrics to install the new cooker .

Brittany (20 years ago) used to suffer very frequent power cuts but it has steadily improved and now suffers only very short ones, usually if its stormy.

No major change needed because when I wired the house I put in the special high capacity circuit for a cooker, even though I had no plans to ever install one.  I just had to connect a 32 amp disjoncteur to feed it.  That was far easier to do than connecting the flex cable from cooker to wall.

    A double ? as in two ovens ?  That’s a lot of oven !

We ” get by” with just one oven , and a ceramic electric hob , with only three  plates . Works for us , but then we don’t cook for thousands anymore . :-) :-)

We don’t clean our oven , it has a pyrolyse function that heats up to ……. degrees and burns everything in it .

One thing I’m not so happy about in the great bungalow the girls have found us to rent is that it’s an all electric oven and hob, I hate cooking with electric oven and hobs, I know, I know, it’s cleaner than gas but I like cooking with gas, as has been said it’s what you get used to and I’m going to have to get used to cooking with electric!!

About 3 years ago I bought a REMOSKA cooker ,,I haven’t used my electric oven scince .
No more oven cleaning, a quarter of the running costs and sits on the worktop.
I would recommend it to anyone I use it everyday including bread and cakes.
Can be purchased from LAKELAND and delivered to France. Ideal for 2 persons.
