Any suggestions appreciated.
One of my Water lily’s has gone on its holidays. I planted it the winter before last, it was a tiny piece if root but has grown into a big and beautiful plant. It has however moved to the opposite side of the pond. I had assumed the buoyancy of the pads had floated the pot. Wrong, the Lily has floated out of the pot. It has a mass of heavy roots. What action do I need to take please?

Indeed yes BM, further inspection reveals the pot is still there but has been completely taken over, overwhelmed.
I have now repotted it and tied it into a much bigger and heavier non mesh container but it is looking sad. The leaves and flowers are facing different directions as they are not at their original depth.

In the the UK we had to literally chop chunks off of ours every other year to keep it within the pond. It did it no harm and the leaves and flowers will sort themselves out very quickly.
Bonjour don’t know if you have a watercourse nearby. If so, watch out for ragondin, they absolutely love water lilies. I had a very large plant easily five meters in diameter. One night ragondin dug it up from the clay bed (to get at the rhizomes I guess) and I found it the next morning floating across the other side of the pond. I was so upset.
No, it was the last straw, so to speak. I had planted at least six lilies during the previous couple of years and it was an endless battle with the coypu. Sadly, I had to give up. I don’t know how many coypu I trapped and dispatched. A very sad and upsetting task.
