Today 1st April, we have had the first 4 Swallows arrive in our barn in area 22. They have been returning here for the last 20 years. Nice to have them back but what a mess they leave. About 8-9 fledglings produced each year.
Spring is here…it’s lovely that the swallows are arriving…mess or not!…im waiting to hear the cuckoo!
I heard our first Cuckoo this morning. Off in the forest, but it was definitely there.

Worse than that – swallows feed on flying insects – there isn’t a lot of them about right now
I thought I saw one this morning, and a few minutes later I definitely did and on a nice spring day.
