It seems storm Domingos is being felt along the Atlantic coast.

Pays de la Loire, Poitou and, to a lesser extent, Aquitaine.

Wind is calm here in 56 at 23.00 hrs. cannot hear a thing listening at an open window.

No problem here but sadly one of Enedis workers was killed. They have not released further details other than to say that today is a day of reflection.

I’d like to know who names these storms (I couldn’t even pronounce the last one)!

I’d like to know who names these storms (I couldn’t even pronounce the last one)!

“It all depends on which country the storm hits first. Since 2017, Europe has been divided into five zones, within which the weather services collaborate to jointly name the latest phenomenon.

In the case of Ciaran, which is due to hit the north-western quarter of France at night on Wednesday, November 1, the group containing Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands chose this name – a tribute to Ciarán Fearon, a Northern Irish civil servant working in flood monitoring”.

Oh, and there’s me thinking it was the name of an ancient Celtic God or Goddess!

I don’t know about the individual storms but I have my own word for the weather in general :negative:
