Now that we are no longer able to order seeds from companies based in the UK I am finding the range available in France a bit limiting. I like to try to grow some new things each year but can’t find a supplier online that has a really wide range to choose from. I’m sure there must be one out there ….. anyone got any useful suggestions?

Last year I found some different and interesting seeds on Leboncoin that came I think from Hungary, the seeds were very good value, arrived quickly and grew. I would recommend anyone looking but you dont get the flashy catlalogue or instructions.

There are piles of European seed companies where you can order online in English .

Try googling “ordering vegetable seeds holland”

The Dutch are the biggest vegetable growers in Europe .

My local Leclerc have quite a large selection of seeds, including some ancient varieties. Nearly all my seeds are from them, and I am generally pleased with the results. The exception is Hellfrucht tomato seeds from Aldi which were very cheap, but have produced huge crops over the last few years. Friends told me they were the tastiest tomatoes they have ever tasted. I’m still on the original pack.

Thank you for all the suggestions, I have had a quick look at them and first impressions are encouraging. Positive Thinking, Graines-Baumaux seems to have an especially wide range but are definitely expensive! AbiK, I do buy from Leclerc quite frequently and also from Lidl but they tend to be the more run of the mill and I do like to try something different too.

I will spend a bit more time on it when it is raining and I can’t get on outside.

The Baumaux catalogue is great – they send me one every year and it’s great for browsing, but I don’t buy very much from them.

However if you find something that you want to try it’s worth going on Ebay.fr

I do like to try something different too

So do I, but not in the garden :yahoo:

I must admit that I tend to stick to what I know, but romanesco cauliflowers caught my eye while browsing in Leclerc, so I bought some seeds.

An update on my seed search …..

On Tuesday (13th) I ordered some seeds from seedaholic.com who are based in Ireland. They were delivered this morning ….. excellent service and they seem to have an extensive catalogue.

I did find some companies in the Netherlands (as suggested by Deboer) which seem to have a good range of veggie seeds but only mixed foxloves and I was looking for separate colours this time around.

Post Brexit we all need to think more European when shopping.  Think further than France.  There are loads of European companies online out there seeking your euros.
