I am delighted with my new puppy, I brought him home yesterday. A bundle of fun and mischief and companion for Toby my older dog. Despite being just 12 weeks he is already climbing the stairs and into everything within reach. This little fellow is going to be a handful
27th October 2023 at 9:43 am #592812Adorable! I confess to being a teensy bit jealous … I absolutely adore having a puppy in the house. Make the most of this time , he will be an adult before you know it.

l expect he will start training you soon.
Funny you should say that, He dragged me kicking and screaming up to the bar tonight and made a lot of new friends. Good job I was there to get him home safely.

JP it is vital with any young dog that unwanted behaviour is stamped out from the start.
You must be firm with him and say “No Monty, we are not going to the pub”.
Over the years a couple of publicans treat our last dog to a Sausage, if ever we were out walking and he should find a pub, he would be straight in there in search of sausages.
Guess what, I don’t have that much spare time anymore
Toby is doing ok, his last medication has improved things for him, he still coughs first thing in the morning but it soon eases. The two dogs get on well although Toby finds the attention a little excessive sometimes so I take Monty to see my friend and her Bichon who also get on well together.
Monty is into everything! If it is edible, chewable or movable, he is on it. I have to be constantly vigilant, he must think his name is “No”
He is lovely, very affectionate and quite a quick learner so fun times ahead.

Monty is settling in well and the two dogs are enjoying each other’s company. Toby is feeling better after several changes in medication. He will never be cured but hopefully his lung condition can be managed at least for the time being and he is enjoying life with his new found friend.
This diabolical weather of incessant, unrelenting rain is proving difficult for house training a new puppy, he doesn’t want to be out in it and who can blame him. Progress is slow and frustrating but I am sure we will succeed in the end. Monty is a delightful character, affectionate and so full of fun and mischief, he would brighten up and home and I adore him. Thanks for asking. He growing quickly and I will post some photos soon.

Good to hear that Toby is responding to treatment and that Monty is settling in. Does he still drag you to the pub?
Despite my best efforts Monty loves going to the bar, he says it is part of his socialising and who am I to argue? he has the staff eating out of his hand or to be more precise he eats out of theirs, biscuits mostly
Oh what a lovely pal Monty is! He will soon get the hang of toilet training he sounds as though he is a very bright little spark.
It’s so good that Toby is responding well to the current medication, it’s lovely that they are pals.
Your life will never be the same JP, much more enriched!
