Not sure if any body can help or even if you are allowed to give names on this forum. If not please pm me.
I am looking for a psychiatrist in the Pontivy area, English speaking would be helpful. We have an ordinance from our doctor but the names he has given us are in the Lamor Plage area which is a 45 minute drive.
I really need to obtain help for my wife. This has been ongoing for a long time and despite being on anti depressants she is not making any progress. She was admitted to a psychiatric hospital two years ago but it was a 50 minute drive for me and they basically dosed her up with Valium.I am unsure if there is a psychiatric hospital in this area. I am getting quite desperate now.
Thank you for any help or if anybody has had experience of this.

I had a Quick Look on Doctolib…there are lots of names…only two in Pontivy but lots in general area.
good luck.
Sorry Jivedance (56) but I can only echo what JP has said, and agree with Marmite about Doctolib.fr

8th July 2024 at 9:09 am #601356Absolutely agree with Marmite, best wishes for you and Mrs Jive, and keep us updated.
Jivedance, remember too that it is important that you make a bit of time for yourself one way or another. Things are very stressful for you and it’s no good for either of you if you make or allow yourself to get poorly.
Good luck.

23rd July 2024 at 2:36 pm #601826Bonjour. Thanks for asking. However at the moment my wife is refusing to see one. I cannot make her so I am working on it to see if she will change her mind. I will not sign for her to see one. I did this a few years ago and it was not a great success. So I am not going down that road again.
Thanks.
