Like any method of communication PM’s can be used for good or malicious purposes. Seems a shame to shut the whole facility down just because of the latter. Seems a bit Big Brother to me especially as it’s been admitted they can’t be read so can’t be monitered if need be ergo Admin has no control of that aspect of the forum.
Just to add the whole new layout seems very basic and clunky and for me it takes ages for a page of posts to load and the page itself is very long. This is intended to be constructive criticism as it has been said there has been a downturn in activity. I have to admit I don’t post much on here now as there just seems to be a never ending cycle of the same old prejudiced views on display and misinformation being peddled.
I mainly look in to see how Mr & Mrs Fruitcake are doing….
Mine is very slow to download too…have to press at least twice…
I have no problems with UIF , I am not on other Forums or need to send personal mails .
I wish that those that don’t like the site would go elsewhere, .
Lets be positive , enjoy life in France ( that is what the site is about) , be thankful that it still exists and help the new owner to make it a good site !

They probably already have Deboer. Thanks for the friendly advice but as I’ve said I don’t contribute much and can’t really be bothered with other Brits in France forums, one of which I’ve recently left anyway.

I looked up the word misogynistic. The definition is “deeply prejudiced against women” I see no evidence of this on here, either on the site in general or individually and I certainly take exception to being labelled as such.
There are a number of active female users on here and there are often threads on more womanly things, there is a knitting thread at the moment.

That’s a bit unfair J, the two biggest contributors on the forum you refer to are ladies and by some considerable amount.

Pete James or Jackie, what site is it? I am rarely on any other French Forums and mainly sports related, well Chelsea FC to be honest

Did you see the Conte reaction when the final whistle went at WHL ? It was as though they had won the World Cup final ? Great passion.
