Marmite must have been another, maybe Bovril has stolen your moniker

    Absolutely Roger…

Like any method of communication PM’s can be used for good or malicious purposes. Seems a shame to shut the whole facility down just because of the latter. Seems a bit Big Brother to me especially as it’s been admitted they can’t be read so can’t be monitered if need be ergo Admin has no control of that aspect of the forum.

Just to add the whole new layout seems very basic and clunky and for me it takes ages for a page of posts to load and the page itself is very long. This is intended to be constructive criticism as it has been said there has been a downturn in activity. I have to admit I don’t post much on here now as there just seems to be a never ending cycle of the same old prejudiced views on display and misinformation being peddled.

I mainly look in to see how Mr & Mrs Fruitcake are doing….

Mine is very slow to download too…have to press at least twice…

I have no problems with UIF , I am not on other Forums or need to send personal mails .

I wish that those that don’t like the site would go elsewhere, .

Lets be positive , enjoy life in France ( that is what the site is about) , be thankful that it still exists and help the new owner to make it a good site !

I think this is one of the most self-indulgent and potentially self-defeating posts on this site and predecessors.

Throw Baby Out With Bathwater, eh?

I refer to my comment on 15 November.

You lost me a while ago Stepaul ,

I read that you have already been banned once from this site ?

    How about posting something positive?

A community space for people living in France to buy sell, exchange and connect.

They probably already have Deboer. Thanks for the friendly advice but as I’ve said I don’t contribute much and can’t really be bothered with other Brits in France forums, one of which I’ve recently left anyway.

Don’t leave this one Jackie , I ( for one ) enjoy your input and welcome your take on the political world out there.

We don’t agree on everything , but that is normal surely ?

I think you like this site !

I don’t expect everyone to agree with me you’ve missed my point.

I don’t blame you for leaving that forum Jackie,it’s turned into a misogynistic men’s club

    22nd November 2021 at 12:11 pm #563529

I looked up the word misogynistic. The definition is “deeply prejudiced against women” I see no evidence of this on here, either on the site in general or individually and I certainly take exception to being labelled as such.

There are a number of active female users on here and there are often threads on more womanly things, there is a knitting thread at the moment.

Bonjour – Cossie wasn’t referring to this forum.

    22nd November 2021 at 12:31 pm #563531

That’s a bit unfair J, the two biggest contributors on the forum you refer to are ladies and by some considerable amount.

“womanly things…a knitting thread” – That isn’t misogynist, but it’s certainly stereotypical. :negative:

Pete James or Jackie, what site is it? I am rarely on any other French Forums and mainly sports related, well Chelsea FC to be honest ;-) :good:

    22nd November 2021 at 1:03 pm #563549

Thank you Jackie, I stand corrected. Sorry Cossie I misread your post.

An interesting article about men and knitting, but in French :

    Hi Roger,

I’m assuming Jackie is talking about TOFF or theotherfrenchforum run by ex UiF member Vegemite Kid.

Did you see the Conte reaction when the final whistle went at WHL ? It was as though they had won the World Cup final ? Great passion.

    22nd November 2021 at 3:28 pm #563571

I can’t knit….I’m just popping out to service the car.

    (well fill it with petrol)

Cooking is accepted as for everyone…there’s not much in life that is reserved for one sex.

Yes Pete, it is what has been needed, I know Mourinho was of a similar nature but failed, just as he had at Utd (very emotional watching Ollie saying good bye to the players and in tears) Conte is known to wear his heart on his sleeve, so fingers crossed. I watched the game live on TV and thought it was two poor sides and a poor game. My Spuds mates were there and said the same BUT that means it can only get better. So good luck to Spurs and Conte

A game of two halves mate. They looked ok first half and we controlled the second imo.
I would love to see Roy Keane in at Man U as interim boss until mopo takes over. He will tell them some home truths and disregard the egos.
