We came across an old Premium bond the other day whilst we were going through a draw. It was from the early 60’s.

We wondered whether it could ever have won a prize and if so have we lost it?

Well, if it has won, the prize is claimable though it seems a bit of a drag to find out.

I checked today the results of the draw for April and was quite surprised at what I saw.

Whilst the maximum amount a person can hold is £50K, there were very few winners in the 1 Million to £5K prizes with the full amount and the number or big prizes to low holdings was astonishing.

Mrs T hasn’t invested megabucks, but coincidentally she received an email today informing her of a £100 win. Waheyyyy

Congratulations, you have as they say “to be in it to win it”.

It is not a good investment in terms of average returns but there is a chance each month of a major prize. They say your money is safe but I’m not so trusting about that going forward.

You must dig them out and check them, you might be a wealthy lady.

from the NS & I website

Use the NS&I prize checker tool and your holder’s number to pull the bond’s value online.
If you don’t have a holder number, use your NS&I number to log in to your online account.
Call 08085 007 007 (or +44 1253 832007 if you’re outside the UK) for help if you’re struggling to find info on your bond.
Your bonds never expire and they’re tied to the purchaser’s name for life, so even if you lose the bond you’re still entitled to the funds.

Well, I found them and received the same message that I receive in any prize draw “Sorry no luck this time”

Still, what you’ve never had you don’t miss do you?

The online checker only goes back six months, to check earlier you need to register and fill in a form.

    I’ve just realised I put crying emoji – I didn’t mean to!

I am investigating Bonjour but I have to go back to basics as I have nothing with my NS&I number on, only my Holders Number, I have to update everything. I will keep at it :good:
