Is it bluetooth you use?  They will need to be paired first,

Thanks Liz, checked that & both are on, I should have mentioned that it is only downloading pics that we cannot do, but it is both our phones & both our laptops
    very odd.
meanwhile I shall blame Trump & his Minions & IDS

Does the laptop pair with the phone?, are you using Nokia’s own program on the laptop to input photos?, are you using Bluetooth or a micro USB link?, does the phone show up on the laptop?, if you open up files on the laptop does the phone show up?, if so, open up the phone storage, double click photos, drag and drop into photos file on the laptop.

    \ah sorry Liz forgot brexit.
Bo, thanks, I am on windows 10 while her grace is on windows 8.1 we both use the windows programmes, we have Bluetooth turned on . When we open the photo programme it cannot find the camera, in the devices window it is telling us there is a driver error when we connect the phone to the laptop the phone switches on OK but that is all
on Wednesday it was working fine

Is the phone itself working as normal?, I thought the Nokia was a windows phone and Nokia supplied their own software to load onto your laptop or computer, which automatically opened up when you connected the phone. Logically if the phone won’t connect with the PC or laptop using cable or bluetooth, sounds like a phone fault.
