It is a supermarket and there are others in the group which are slightly dearer but just as good value.

We have lunched in the supermarket restaurants before, the only grumble we have is that there is sometimes a long wait to be served unless we get there dead on 12 o’clock.

Sometimes, I really fancy a flunch, but am always sorry! The help yourself veg is tinned, the mash potato is packet and the rice is microwaved. What’s your views on flunch?

Is it Le Clerc? The one in Lamballe is very cheap and always packed out…

No, these are ‘restaurants’, well, canteen food places. You choose your main and go and get it, then help yourself to everything else. They do get packed and are quick food (oh, you pick up a starter and/or desert, should you wish, before you pay and choose your main dish). I think flunch is a chain. I’ve seen food places at le clerc, but this is different

Yes it is E Leclerc the one in Guilers near Brest

    GUILERS
    ROUTE DE SAINT RENAN KEREBARS
    29820 GUILERS

They charge 6.50 euro and a free meal every 20

Yes it is like a canteen but the food is fine and at this price I am glad I am not snob and you get to know other people who also use the “canteen” regularly, only ever seen the odd British in there

The one at PLOUDALMEZEAU has a more of a restaurant atmosphere and is 8.25 euro for a similar menu
    KERUSCAT
    29830 PLOUDALMEZEAU

There are a lot of other Leclrec which offer similar value meals

For an “up market” type go to the newly refurbished E.leclerc which is a shop equal or better than any John Lewis or Waitrose

Marmite mentioned a Japanese Buffet. I wasn’t aware there were any in Brittany. Please tell me where. We do have sushi once per year when a friend’s Japanese daughter-in-law visits. And it’s absolutely fantastic.
