    Yummy ! I do a similar sauce but instead of cognac I use pommeau.

    We also had a roast chicken, roast spuds, the last of our allotment cauliflower, French beans, lovely gravy and trifle to follow!  :rose:

    Today it was roast chicken in Polish spices. Followed by Angel Delight and squirty cream!

    It was my son’s favourite Angel Delight, the caramel flavour one!

    Tomorrow I might make a Chicken, onion and mushroom risotto , and there will still be enough left over for another meal!  Plus a Apple sponge for Pud!  :rose:

    Ah that’s a shame SS. That happened to us, we had popped back to the UK for a few days, agent had the keys for viewings , and very kindly switched off all electrics when they left!  Whole of Christmas food totally thawed out by the time we returned. Got the Gallic shrug when we mentioned it!  :rose:
