Half a plate of runner beans the other half a lovely tangy mix of sliced tomatoes and prawns cooked in a little olive oil with turmeric, black pepper, ginger, lemon juice and a spoonful of sweet chilli & garlic sauce. Trying to be good after two lots of chips from two evenings out😊

Wood burning bbq lit.
Courtyard to myself.
Sweet chilli pork shoulder chop, chipos and a garlic butter jacket potato.
Might give the salad a glance.
Or might not.
Oh, and another chop.
Tubular Bells playing perhaps a little to loud……
Mme Merlot is looking her seductive best.
Happiness is.Mme B made a fantastic casserole with Rabbit, but it would work with Chicken or Pork.
Apart from the meat and normal veg, it involved chicken stock, herbs, red wine and prunes which had been soaked in brown sugar and brandy.
Absolutely delicious.Better still, there is enough for tomorrow.

A few days ago we were able to condense the contents of two freezers into one, much better with the power cuts and obvious savings of consumption.
As is often the case I found a few forgotten treasures.
Menu today was therefore Cod and Salmon fishcakes that Mme B made from scratch with salt. pepper, chives and fresh Desiree mash. She leaves the fish in large flakes and fries the cakes without breadcrumbs, served with home made coleslaw and an ice cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc.
For desert, she has made Apple and Cinnamon pie with Sultanas to be served with no longer frozen thick local cream. The process of freezing the cream seems to have thickened it without losing any taste or texture. I am a lucky chap.
It was really sad to look back at Stinkys posts…he was so special…really miss him.
your hidden treasures look really good…I don’t cook much to freeze…I freeze the meat,fish etc…so my freezers not so interesting…and reality is I often forget to take something out in time.
Daughters paying a suprise visit tonight so MrMs getting some meat…both carnivores!
Lunch today for friends here. Lamb shanks in fruit beer/ stock/ onion/ carrots+ lots of side vegetables+ potato and celeriac dauphinoise. New dessert- mocha fudge cheesecake with chocolate mousse topping- went down well!!😋
