I have been out to my local bars tonight as I usually do on a Friday hoping for an enjoyable evening. It was quieter than a normal Friday. I despair, no one here seems to have any interest in Easter, or Christmas for that matter. I thought France was a catholic country, but they don’t seem to celebrate like we do. I have long since given up my faith but I still consider myself a Christian and enjoyed the Christian holidays when I lived in England. Life here is not
getting any easier
Happy Easter John…any celebration…religious or not ..is what you make it.
buy yourself a big egg…chocolate…don’t give any to Monty…have a walk in the sun( if there is any)..celebrate the end of winter…spring is trying!
Life is what you make it wherever you are.
I visited a 95 year old yesterday..,a widow for 30 years..her daughter died 10 years ago…she still has a joy for life..a pleasure to be with….

You all well know my attitude on life and living for the day and making the most of every moment but I do understand that for some it isn’t always that cut and dried.
Sometimes happiness is just a state of mind and all sorts of happenings or none events can upset that balance. I think mindfulness is a great help, being aware of what’s about you. Often when I walk I just stop dead, deeply breathe in the air, listen to the birds, look down in the hedgerow and find that tiny wild violet and I always get a sense of peace and a ‘good to be alive ‘ feeling.
It’s not for everyone but I think what I am trying to say is sometimes if you can take stock of the small, good things in your life then life doesn’t seem quite so daunting.
Enjoy Monty JP and the smiles he gives you and look forward to your UK adventure.
Oh and buy that Easter egg
I went out with two French friends yesterday…both with adult children,….ie all done with the hunt the eggs in the garden…until the grandkids are old enough.
They are coming to me on Sunday…after a vide grenier…it’s probably going to be wet in the afternoon…so we aren’t picnicking as planned…Im cooking lunch here…
Eastern is what you make it……it’s a long weekend …lots on…
Happy Easter Marmite enjoy the VG, hope you find a treasure or two.
I am going to try out an interesting chilli bread recipe to take for the family tomorrow (if it turns out ok!) and have a doggy visitor coming with her owner for Dolly ( the dog) to ‘case the joint ‘ . I walk her every Monday morning and she is coming to stay for a few days later so needs to get acquainted with the place. (And it’s a good excuse for her owner & I to have a cuppa and natter!)
Happy Easter one an all

It’s been a lovely day so far…woke early…realised that with the change of hour we would be good for the vide grenier…plus I felt well!
off we went …first one for a long time…loved it…a good walk around a big field and a small village a couple of bargains…some plants..a coffee and a croissant …home..just 11 am.
Friends arrived at lunch time..lovely convivial lunch…planning for the next one.
All quiet now…im on the sofa..MM insisting on clearing the kitchen…I’ve given in!
All in all a nice day!

Nice one Marmite & I have just taken the chilli loaf out of the oven and it looks pretty good, the test will be in the tasting.(I would post a photo if I could!)
And I enjoyed a lovely few hours in the garden while the loaf was doing its thing. Excellent result
