If a cork doesn’t fit back into a bottle place it in boiling water for a few minutes until it becomes soft
Squeaky floorboards? Sprinkle talcum powder between them
Two glasses stuck together? Stand the bottom glass in hot (not boiling) water and fill the top one with cold.
Place your knitwear in a pillow case before washing to prevent it going out of shape
Hardened paintbrush? Soak in hot white vinegar
Remove the odour from smelly shoes by sprinkling a tablespoon of bicarb in each shoe and leave overnight
Sprinkling bran around plants will attract and kill slugs, it will also attract snails making it easy to collect them
Remove sticky labels from glass with nail varnish remover
Yes always works Tina, I didn’t add that in the hints as I’d covered loads of tips when I did a post about white vinegar and it’s uses.
While we’re on the subject I always put white vinegar in the softener compartment of the washing machine ( never use softener) it keeps clothes fresh & keeps the machine clean.
I also always soak the dishcloth in a solution of white vinegar & washing up liquid between washing it.
I buy white vinegar in bulk, I use so much of it!
Here’s another tip, turn the duvet cover inside out, fasten the buttons or poppers and fold it before putting in the machine, doesn’t crease as much and no socks get trapped inside. By having it inside out you can undo the fasteners, put your hands into the corners and grab the duvet corners to pull it as you turn the cover the right way.

I may have posted this before somewhere but just in case here is a cooking tip you might find handy.
GINGER
I use a lot of ginger in my diet (anti-stress, lowers BP & cholesterol, anti- oxidant, anti- inflammatory, healthy gut) I buy it fresh, freeze it and just grate it, skin and all, from frozen into my stir fry veg.
GARLIC
I found I wasted a lot of garlic as it went soft (& smelly!) before I used it all so when I have a spare moment I peel the cloves, lay them on a strip of tin foil and roll it up, put in freezer bag & freeze. It’s still easy to chop from frozen & I don’t waste it.
