Tonight I’m alone and hungry so I cooked some aperitif nibbles i have in the freezer. Instructions said 15 to 20 minutes at 220 centigrade. Ended up 60 minutes at 270 centigrade. Anyone else have problems with useless cooking times on frozen food?

That does seem a hell of a lot more time, Dom, than the actual instructions, I think the oven has to probably be at the temperature stated on the packet to start with.

What were the nibbles Dom? Ah, another thought, not many ovens do 270C, is yours Fahrenheit?

I would have thought 60 mn at 270C would have carbonized them

Up to temp and after 15 minutes turned up to 270 Centigrade. Little pastry things with say goats cheese on them. Quite small, about 2cm round. Very tasty though. BURP!

I’m with Babeth, surprised there was anything edible left to burp over. lol

Frozen fish dishes I always give longer, otherwise normally okay.

Light brown underneath and moist on top. Yummy! Had the temperature checked by a friend some time ago. He arrived with a BRICK and an infrared temperature reader. Apparently the brick keeps hot when door is opened. Bizarre or what?

Ovens do vary..if I cooked  frozen bits for that long at that temperature I agree with Babeth…..carbon.

I always always, cook frozen things for alot longer than it says. Otherwise, only ‘just cooked’ or ‘watery’! Yuck!!
