Starting tonight and every Tuesday presumably for a trial period there is a fish and chip van in Guiscriff 56560 between 18.30 and 20.30. I have sampled it tonight and it was very nice. It is run by a French couple and you get 5 pieces of fish in batter, a generous portion of chips, salt and a pot of tartare sauce. The fish tastes and looks like cod but I am not an expert so it maybe something similar but very nice. You need to bring your own vinegar.

So if you are English and live in Scaer, Gourin or Le Faouet area, I thought this might interest you. It wasn’t very busy tonight so it is probably going to be a case of use it or lose it.

Fish and chips was 13 euros, I have just returned from the UK and was paying 14 pounds for similar so not over expensive. :good:

I quite frequently make fish and chips, often with smaller of cheaper but tastier species like Gurnard, they are great for making goujons for dipping in a sauce or dressing.

I find it difficult in getting proper potatoes that crisp on the outside but are nice and fluffy inside. Maris Piper of Desiree are great but we don’t see them here.

I put a bit of cornflour in the mix, it lightens and crisps it.
