I’m looking for an artisan to clear the pipe carrying waste water from the kitchen. My plumber, who is very good, said we needed a “déboucheur” . He contacted a firm for us but they cancelled the rdv and I haven’t heard from that company for 2 weeks (could be on holiday off course).  They were quite a long way away so I wonder if they thought that we were too far away. I am now thinking about getting someone else. I’m looking for someone in the area St Malo, Dol-de-Bretagne, Combourg. I see a company , La compagnie des Déboucheurs, is recommanded by a number of satisfied clients. Has anyone used them? Or any other company in this area?

I’m looking for recommendations from clients and do not wish to be contacted by individual firms. I shall also be seeking my plumber’s advice on firms of “déboucheurs”.

seems strange that your plumber cant solve this , with it being grey water it must be a quick fix, I am sure ( Stinky) will back me up in this ;-) .

Plumbers put in pipes etc .

Just get a deboucher from the quincaillerie?

It’s a rubber sucker on a length of wood , we call it a flooper!

It’s a bit more complicated. The pipe from the kitchen sink is clear but it’s the pipe that takes it further that’s blocked. With fat, according to our plumber. He does not have powerful enough pumps to clear it otherwise he would have sorted it.

If your fosse was properly installed , you should have a ” fat trap” before the fosse septic and that is what can be blocked ?

For all you “blockists” on here. Lidl are selling a deboucher  which is their best effort yet for unblocking pipes.

Their last one was hopeless, a sort of large bicycle pump with a rubber sucker on the end.

This new one is a pump-it-up and fire it down the pipe type, a bit like an airgun – goes up to 3 bar that’s 45 psi!

    It seems quite well made.

    Lidl : Déboucheur de canalisation pompe à 6,99 €

I bought one on Saturday – should come in handy – €6.99
