    Good news !

We have received a mail from the French Gov. that we will receive €100 each off our electric bill in December.

Along with 38,000,000 French tax payers.

Great stuff , thanks France .

Are you sure it is not a scam?

    19th November 2021 at 8:47 pm #563403

    Yes

We already received €63 this year , as we do every year.

although , it is not ” each ” , it is just €100 per household . Jen and I received a mail , but we are married, so taxed together.

Not a scam Topcat, but it depends on your income (2020 taxe income declaration)

And I think it is available to the retired but only if on French pensions.

    19th November 2021 at 9:08 pm #563410

It is available to all those that pay French tax and fall below the income level of €2000 net per month .

Does not need applying for , it is automatic

    19th November 2021 at 9:20 pm #563414

    Two different things :

Indemnité d’inflation : Income less than 2000€ a month = 100€ per person, but as Roger said, I’m not sure about foreign pensions

Chèque énergie : Income less than 10800€ yearly income for one person, less than  16200€ for an household of two – The taxe office is calculating it regarding to your 2020 taxe declaration

In both cases, if you are eligible, this is automatic

Chèque énergie calculation (1UC is one person, you have to add 0.5 for your second half – RF = revenu de reference, yearly income on your taxe) – This is the theory

    Deboer:

To all those that declare at the Impots, not necessarily paying tax.
Babeth I am pretty sure for the retired one has to be on a French pension, not a UK state pension

Sorry Roger , I should have posted ” all those that fill in a French tax form ”

My wife is on a UK state pension , we are married and fill in our tax form in France , so would pay tax in France if we earned enough to do that , we don’t , so we receive the cheque energie.

Quote from our letter : “le versement d’une indemnité inflation exceptionnelle d’un montant de 100 euros qui sera versée aux Français gagnant moins de 2 000 euros net par mois, soit 38 millions de personnes, afin de les aider à faire face à la hausse des prix, notamment des carburants.”

Read for ” Francais” those that fill in their forms in France and would pay tax if needed ?

But then again , of course , I have the French nationality , so maybe we have more ” rights”

Yes, it is right for the chèque energie. It has been on on previous years, and linked to your revenu de reference per household.

The indemnité d’inflation is new this year. In your case Deboer, it should be paid by MSA (100€ for you) For your wife, if she only have a foreign pension, it is actually not clear (we are in the same position, but maybe this will apply :

Are people living in France and employed abroad eligible for the inflation allowance?

Frontier workers living in France are eligible for the inflation allowance.
Given that the activity is carried out abroad, the payment of the inflation allowance will be carried out according to the appropriate procedures with the help of the tax authorities (DGFIP).)

Here is how and by whom it is going to be paid (and I insist, Indemnité d’inflation, 100€ per head if net monthly income bellow 2000€, based on 2021, not chèque d’energie)

    Madame, Monsieur,

    Cordialement,

Le Ministère de la Transition écologique

I agree with you Babeth , but it will be sent to the EDF and was titled “chèque énergie ”

Maybe , I will get another €100 from the MSA for the inflation too ?

    19th November 2021 at 10:00 pm #563424

It is because I’m not entitled to the original one, I’m always “entre deux eaux” income wise, we don’t earn enough to pay taxe, but always sligtly over the limit for “aides” except the 100€ :yahoo:

    19th November 2021 at 10:02 pm #563425

And I’m going to include it myself next month in my payslip :yahoo:

But going to deal with the administration for the declaration

    19th November 2021 at 10:02 pm #563426

The French ” system ” is wonderful !

I paid a lot ( a lot) of tax when I was ” working” so now am happy to be a poor Farmer.

    19th November 2021 at 10:08 pm #563427

I’m happy to work part times, I’m sure it doesn’t make me poorer. No way I would return in my previous life.

    19th November 2021 at 10:15 pm #563428

Quite right too , if you can live well , and I am sure that you can in France . Then it is better to spend time at home than away working . It is a lesson that needs to be learnt , sooner or later. :-)

About time I got some money from the MSA , they take enough  every month !

    19th November 2021 at 10:18 pm #563429

Maybe , I will get another €100 from the MSA for the inflation too ?

    It could well be !
