Mme B has made lovely cakes. They have no flour or eggs or butter. Maybe they are not cakes. then but they are tasty.

She mixed very ripe bananas with porridge oats, honey, and some crushed nuts, oh and cocoa powder and enough water to bind. Tasted lovely, even better once they were treated to a coat of melted chocolate though.

Have not made custard for quite some time the price of vanilla is off the scale.

Mme B has discovered my best drinking Armagnac and used it to soak the dried fruit for her Christmas cakes etc.

I always keep a large jar in the cupboard…of extra large raisins ,sultanas..covered in whatever spirit I can pinch out of the drinks cupboard…sometimes rum, cheap brandy….calvados..

it’s wonderful spooned over ice cream…or in cakes…
