Tenacity will win in the end John, keep smiling!

Marmite, I read that as Mr. Marmite being shattered (tired) to start with! Sounds as though he will be by the time he’s served all his penance!

IN our first house in France the lawns ran along the house….he broke three Windows…double glazed.  (Not the same day)

our insurers were amazing …paid the first two against the quote…the third time the broker suggested we put another reason for the break!

all he had to do was close the shutters!

he is looking a bit sheepish!

I’ve ‘trained’ Mr. F. to close our shutters before he starts running amok with the mower or strimmer, I don’t doubt he’s looking sheepish! Have you thought of a suitable punishment Marmite?  :-)   :-)

For a start he’s picking up the million pieces..

my poor car looks rather sad!

my mistake ..when it came to fitting a tow bar ..we decided mine was more of a work horse…it’s quite an old vw beetle but a cabriolet…I love driving with the lid off…sadly he seems to need the trailer more often than I thought…quite often on hot sunny days…I’m getting suspicious!

anyway ,not only can it be topless at the moment it’s also minus a front passenger window…

    Just an update.

I am still waiting for my insurers to give me the go ahead to have the damage repaired despite submitting the devis six weeks ago. I am insured with groupama and spend over 1000€ a year in insurance with them.

I contacted them and had a reply saying I need to be patient and that they are waiting for the go ahead from the insurers of the company who caused the damage. The claim is just over 1100€

I am insured with groupama and I expect them to look after me as a customer, that is what I pay them for, they should pay my claim (or decline it if they have a valid reason), then chase the 3rd party for recompense.

I have now found that they changed my contract de habitation in January this year but continued to charge me for the old contract as well. Good eh!

I have been with them for 5 years and they are now about to loose all their insurances I have with them for failure to pay a claim within a reasonable time which is about equivilent to one years premiums, poor customer service and charging me double for the last years habitation insurance which they have agreed to refund after I found them out.

I shall continue the fight to get the go ahead to have my floor repaired. I shall very soon be putting it in the hands of my protection juridique. I am not a happy bunny! :negative:

Oh, that’s just diabolical service JP! Cheeky wotsits changing your contract without notification! That can’t be legal, can it? Good for you pushing for a refund. Sounds as though your juridique insurance does need to be used! I agree that as your insurance is with Groupama it should be them sorting your claim out and then it’s up to them to sort their claim out with the other insurance company – sounds like a cop-out doesn’t it? All power to your elbow to get this sorted out  :good:

I believe that as a customer I deserve a modicum of respect whether here or in the UK. If the company you spend money with doesn’t respect that right then I will take my custom elsewhere. It is the only way the customer will get decent service :good:

    Totally agree JP

We were insured with Allianz.  …we have insured the excess on all our policies

we had an accident they sent a cheque minus 300 euros for the excess…when we queried they informed us they had not insured the excess on that policy…as they were not instructed by us to do this …we argued!

their cheque was posted back three times until they agreed it was their mistake.

    we then changed insurers…now with a mutuelle…

if you believe you are in the right you have to fight your corner!(then change!)

Knowing that you are in the right and having the tenacity to stick with until you win the day brings just rewards in the end!

Well, I have the tenacity to fight my corner and faced with my immediate problem I have been fighting tooth and nail and it has got me nowhere- no apologies or communication just a very sweet female on the end of the phone each time I contact them. I have visited the building in St Brieuc about 6 times , telephoned them probably 6 or 7 times, written to them umpteen times and AIKB have helped by phoning them but we just get told to be “patient” and to resend the documents

What is my problem- well since March this year I have been waiting for my Carte Vital, have done all the above, sent the same photocopies and forms to them 4 times (including copy of my C de S)- recd my Attestation in April and nothing since except to be told I must be patient- too many departments I think! Its sitting with Sandia apparently awaiting a permanent number.

I can certainly sympathise with anyone waiting for even an acknowledgement for any claim

………… signed by totally fed up waiting  :((((

Yep Me too Marmite and a few months still to wait I presume as was told it would be plus/minus 9 months- reminds me of something else that needed patience for same length of time

I’m still waiting for my driving license and was stopped the other day by the gendarmes asking to see it! I showed them my expired driving license and also a copy of the paper work which has been sent in for my new one. They said ok and off I went (phew)  ;-)

Well they always say you find out how good an insurance company is when you have to make a claim. My battle with groupama continues and it is now 7 days since I sent my last email which like the previous one has been ignored. I am busy this week but come Monday I shall be invoking my protection jurestique against them. I shall also begin placing all my insurance policies with other companies so if anyone can reccommend an insurer you have had a claim against and they have paid out efficiently and promptly I would welcome that information.

I am disgusted with groupama. They are being totally unprofessional over my minor claim and their customer service is zero. I hate to think what would have happened if I had been the victim of a fire or other major incident. If you are insured with this comany you could do worse than consider your position should the worst happen!  :negative:

Just to remind you all that not all government officials are fonctionnaires, far from it.

    7th November 2018 at 9:45 am #427220

We have resisted insuring online where there isn’t a local office or agent with a desk we can sit in front of to negotiate, question or complain if necessary.

We’ve been lucky so far in that we haven’t needed to make any claims. Possibly you are better off with a mutual type of insurer, we’re with MMA for most of our insurance except protection juridique which is with our bank – didn’t want our insurer to provide that in case we have a problem with them!

We’ve been with AXA for about ten years now and have never had any problems. They have paid out promptly for property and car damage. Likewise, we prefer a local agent that we can complain to face to face if need be.

They now inform me that after over 3 months since the leak occured, they are sending an ‘expert’ round to assess the damage. Wonderful another delay!

Very true, CPAM workers are not fonctionnaires for a start and there are plenty more ….
