Jackery Explorer 2000
There have been references about Jackery made on the forum from time to time. I own one and wouldn’t be without it. It is fantastic. It is portable and comes with me everywhere. That’s why I offered to review it.
Although it is quite heavy, it is not too heavy, and it is made easier to carry with a well made and robust handle that actually sits well in your hand. In use it is almost silent, the only noise being the cooling fan. I used to have a different make and that was so noisy. I find this quick to charge, it holds the charge very well, even in winter and it has plenty of sockets for plugging things in.
When I take it away in the camper van I now have independence for a whole week in terms of power, If I were to connect the solar panels, endless power wherever the sun shines. Not only that, on the way home it charges itself up. and If I plug it into the mains it is fully charged in no time. It has plenty of grunt for plugging in a battery charger on boost and getting old engines to run. When storm Babette hit and took out our power, it kept the house going until power was restored.
I have a large barn / workshop with no power connected but with the Jackery I have all the power I need, lighting and any tools, it even does the electric log splitter and charges the security system.
Yesterday was cup final and I was well and truly off grid. I had Jackery charging the van and the laptop was plugged in too, I then connected a usb cable to the phone and watched the footy. Afterwards I still had 88% of power and I had charged the van for two previous days.
Their customer support is second to none too.
